Goal

Each spring a stallion inspection is organized where approved stallions can be presented for upgrading and young stallions are judged for approval as reproduction stallions.
Between May and October inspections take place in The Netherlands and abroad where mares, foals and stallions are valued for breeding Irish Cobs; during the year young born Irish Cob fillies and colts are entered in the stud book after being identified by a studbook official or by a qualified veterinary surgeon.

In wintertime the results and impressions of the previous season are evaluated by the inspectors meeting and the standards for the coming season are set.
Because the judging of Irish Cobs is a very specific task, ICS Nederland only deploys inspectors who have successfully followed the internal training program.

ICS (Irish Cob Society) Nederland, studbook for Irish Cobs, is the largest (over 11.000 registered Cobs) studbook for coloured-horses-with-leg-feathering.
Our working area includes The Netherlands, France, Germany, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Ireland, Austria, Estonia, Italy and the Czech Republic.
ICS Nederland is an approved studbook for Irish Cobs and issues EU approved equine passports
